I just had my baby , I never filed taxes before though. Will I still be eligible to receive the extra $300 that’s suppose to start July ?

Yup. We will get it. Even if it doesn’t start coming monthly, the IRS will adjust for it with the 2021 tax returns. Side note - my husband and I just got our second and third round stimulus checks in the mail last week. So they’re a bit behind. Personally, I don’t think we’ll get anything until next spring. 🙃

Yes you will have to find the webpage (probably the irs) and report that you just had a baby. If you don’t do that, then when you file your taxes next year you will get the full $3600 towards that. When I have my baby in august I will have to contact them to let them know so I can receive that money as well

I’m not sure you qualify automatically until you’ve filed taxes. If you don’t get the $300 monthly, you will get it when you file taxes for 2021. If you don’t file for 2021, whoever claims the baby will get the tax credit.

Check the irs site. They’re supposed to be updating the site to allow parents to make changes if they recently had a baby. Try calling also.
