Is it ever ok to double text on a dating app?

I sent a message on a dating app to a guy and he replied back with a really nice long message. I wasn’t very well yesterday and sent a really boring response and no questions. It’s been 24 hours since I sent it, and I’m wondering if I can send another as he told me he had fun weekend plans. I can ask how they were? 
Im usually very shy with texting and need to be more bold as I’ve not been on a date for years

I’m so over this “double texting rule” if you have something to say I would respect someone so much for for sending more messages than not saying anything or seeming uninterested. Who gives a shit about dumb rules like that. What is the worst that happens? Anyone who stresses about something as meaningless as double texting should reconsider if they are in a place for a relationship in my eyes. Have no fear! Communicate freely!
