7 weeks pregnant friend bleeding

One of my closest friends is 7 wks along and is having some bleeding today. She hasn’t established care w an OB yet and it’s night time so I’m just looking for the best way to support her. She said a “little gush” of blood came out, enough to wet her pants. Then later some spotting. Now it seems to have stopped. Has anyone experienced similar? I’ve been pregnant but never had bleeding or spotting of any kind. I know spotting can be common in early pregnancy but also know it can be indicitive of miscarriage. Just looking for insight, thoughts etc. I will of course use discretion with passing along any responses. Thank you all in advance!
