Smaller age gap between siblings

Looking for advice from moms with 2kids. I have a toddler and an infant with an age gap of 2 and half years. And managing both of them is not easy, my mom is not here for help so I manage them alone with minimum help from husband. And I feel very lonely sometimes, days and nights seem very long and always think of how it would have been with a larger age gap between 2kids. People say it gets better as they grow older, but depending on your experiences pls help me understand how the smaller age gap kids advantages and life for the parents
