Is my boyfriend cheating?

Long story short, me and my boyfriend have been together for two years and i just tested positive for chlamydia. I tested negative two years ago when we first got together but had already had unprotected sex a few times. I have not been with anyone else during our relationship. Is it possible he or me got it from a past relationship and it just was dormant or wasn’t detected on my first test or is he most definitely cheating on me?

Chlamydia can absolutely be asymptomatic or lay dormant for a very long time. There’s also a 14% false negative rate for the test. So my advice to you would be that if you don’t trust your boyfriend and you believe he could’ve cheated, it’s not the right relationship for you.￼ ￼

Was he tested at the beginning of your relationship too?

It really depends. Chlamydia can take up to 3 months to test positive for, so if you tested before 3 months of having sex there’s a chance it just didn’t show up. However if it had been 3+ months it would have and he cheated
