Ovulation on birth control

I know we don’t ovulate on birth control, but is it still possible to experience the same side effects as if we were ovulating?

Like I still get mini cramps and regular egg white consistency discharge on the day Im supposed to be ovulating.

I wasn’t sure if that’s normal or if that’s a sign that I’m really ovulating and that the pill isn’t working 😩
