Is it better to be the one in the relationship who loves the SO more or for the SO to love you more?

Obviously the ideal would be for both of you to love each other the same amount. But if you had to choose, which is better? To love your SO more than they love you. Or for your SO to love you more than you love them? And why?

I feel like it would be a bit selfish to expect to be loved more than. I would rather have my heart shattered than to shatter my husband's heart, I know that for sure

To me, if it's true love, there aren't different degrees. You just love them with your entire being. Otherwise, it's most likely lust and not love...

It’s better if he loves you more, because then he doesn’t stop trying, he still makes the effort, and he still pursues you because the ball is in your court because you love him less. It’s a psychological thing, this is why a lot of times in relationships the guy does the maximum in the beginning, he gets comfortable, he gets you, he stops making the effort does the minimal he flipped the script and now you are chasing after him doing the maximum to keep him happy and keep things going. Unfortunately it’s a psychological thing, it’s better if he you love him less and he loves you more. ￼
