6 mo old decreased appetite
My daughter recently has been eating less than normal. She turned 6 mo old last Wednesday and we had her shots - she wasn’t herself for a couple of days and then seemed fine, but her appetite doesn’t seem the same.
She had been consistent with eating for a few months - 6oz of formula at 4-5am, mid-morning, early afternoon, late afternoon/early evening, and then before bed. We have been giving her 1-2 oz of solids a couple times a day for a while now and she has been loving it. But she hasn’t finished a bottle in a while. She is still getting around 24 oz a day, but used to drink 30.
My husband is wondering if it’s because we switched to tap water for her bottles (approved by pediatrician) and she doesn’t like the taste of it, but I can’t imagine the taste is that different?
I don’t think I would be as worried about it if she wasn’t in the 11th percentile for her weight/age. She was born early, and has been growing right along her personal curve so the pediatrician has been thrilled, but I want to make sure she is getting everything she needs! I have called the pediatrician and have been monitoring temp and potential other symptoms, I just don’t have any mom friends who can tell me, “oh that happens” to calm my nerves, or confirm I should worry - whichever is appropriate.
