I want to start working but I don’t have a ssn card or a ID I’m 17 I was adopted last year and my adoptive mom still has not gotten any of that for me, when she says that she will is there any other way I can get it?

Were u born in America? If so, you should have gotten one at birth, or call your local social security department and inquire on how to obtain one while will be mailed to you. If not, and your adoptive mother is trying to petition for you, you’ll have to legally be in her care for two years before being able to petition for your ssn and other documents.

Www.ssa.gov has information on social security cards and how to apply for one. If you were born here in the US, your original social security number will still be the same, you’ll just need to apply for a new card. I’m not exactly sure how adoption plays into it or what documents you need but there should be information for you on the website.
