Brown discharge

So I've had mirena for almost three years with no issues at all. My periods are irregular and come and go when they want. I'm supposed to be on my period right now but for the the past like 3 days I've had a brown discharge instead. My husband and I have had unprotected sex and he finishes inside of me. I can also feel my strings. Has anyone else had this happen??
