How do you do things around babies bed time?

Question

Tonight a friend is having a small get together and invited us I really want to go but she doesn’t want anyone over until 7:30 and usually we put baby down at 8. Will it hurt if we stay out until 9 and get her in bed after that? How do others work around this? I’m a FTM and clueless also it’s an outdoor get together and she’s only 2 months so is just hold her the whole time. I’ve had her on this schedule since 2 weeks and she sleeps perfectly at night. I just don’t want to mess up her sleep.

I still don’t do things around my son’s bedtime and he’s almost two, but his sleep was a HUGE anxiety trigger for me. I rarely messed with his schedule for naps and bedtime and he is an AMAZING sleeper. This is just my opinion though. I know other moms go with the flow and their kids are fine! I couldn’t do it though lol. 
Is there anyone you trust (like baby’s grandparent) that would maybe do bedtime so you can still go enjoy the evening but baby still gets their regular routine? If not I’m sure one night of variation won’t mess up sleep too much!

At 2 months old just go. Bring a carrier or a portable crib if you feel like it.

At two months, I wouldn’t have worried about the time. Babies can sleep anywhere! I worry more about going places at bedtime now
That my son is 2.5. It’s much more difficult when they’re toddlers to mess up their schedule. They good cranky and throw fits and it’s just rough. We are almost always home in time for bed now. As an infant, I just made sure I had somewhere I could lay him or someone else to hold him if necessary.

I typically wouldn’t attend. Messing with my kids bedtime was almost never worth it.

At 2 months I would have gone and had a good time. Mine never had a consistent schedule until 6 months or so. When they are that young their schedule changes and they go through so many sleep regressions anyway. I don’t think it will matter to be out late for one night.

I have a 3.5 year old, almost 2 year old, and 2 month old and if we get invited to something around their bedtime we always go. Tonight actually we have something going on around their bedtime so my toddlers will stay up a little later probably sleep in a little later tomorrow and then everything will be back to normal tomorrow night

Life doesn't stop because you have a baby. I can't believe all these mother's missing out on everything since having a baby. 
I would bring a Moses basket with my so baby can sleep at scheduled time. My baby transfered well in and out of car so depends how well yours does. One night is not going to undo all your work.

I’d go. I still go to stuff like this with my two year olds. If he’s tired he’ll go to sleep.

You could always take her pack n play and put her to sleep there. It doesn’t hurt to let them experience a little bit of flexibility every now and then.
