How long until I need to call Dr.?

My 7 month old is constipated. He hasn’t pooped in 6 days. When I wipe his bum I can see poop right there but it won’t come out. I give him apple sauces (only higher fibre types) as well as sips of water throughout the day. I don’t know what else to do, nothing I’m doing seems to make a difference.

Apple sauce is not gonna help. Apple juice would help or prune juice in small amount. With water.

I’d probably call the dr anyway. My little guy had some issues when we started solids. I found that prunes really really helped! Plus he likes them, so easy to get him to eat.

We do 1oz of 100% warm apple juice when our daughter reaches 5 days without a poop. That was our dr’s advice when she started being constipated around 4mo old. Works every time. We use it as a medicine and only as needed.

Is he breastfed? We were told that breastfed babies can go about a week without pooping.there is not much waste in bf.

Apple or prune juice or you can do a warm water enema. My grandma had to do it to my little brother a few times.

Something I did with my first 17 years ago was Karo syrup and water or sometimes with his milk would help keep him from getting constipated.  
It's what my grandma advised.

prunes should help. You may have to give him a little every day. My son had that also where it would get really hard and get stuck, I used to pick him up with his back against my chest and his legs held up like you’re giving birth and it legit helped it come out
