Formula spills out of baby’s mouth while eating?
My baby is now 3 weeks old. He was born at 38 weeks. I started him off with comotomo bottles bc my two older ones did really great with them. But I noticed that formula will spill out of the sides of his mouth while he was eating. To clarify he’s not spitting up and doesn’t have reflux, as he’s sucking on the bottle formula pours out of the sides of his mouth. I was taking him almost daily to the pediatrician and he wasn’t gaining or losing weight. If I made a 2 ounce bottle I wasn’t sure how much he was actually ingesting but knew he was getting some bc he was having wet diapers. I switched him to dr. Browns bottles with the preemie nipple. I figured if the flow was slowed down it would give him a better chance to swallow better. Dr found a minor tongue tie that we took care of in hopes that was the problem. He’s 3 weeks old now and his feeding situation hasn’t gotten better. So much spills out sometimes that I’ve started putting folded towels under his chin while he eats bc he was soaking all the bibs and his clothes. I’ve never had this issue with my other kids so I’m not sure what’s going on. The pediatrician thinks it might be either a coordination problem which I’d have to take him to a neurologist for an EEG to see if anything shows up on his brain activity. Or it might be a muscle problem which I would have to get a speech therapist for. Has anyone else experienced this and has an idea of what’s going on. I just want to make sure he’s ok and is eating enough and growing well.

I’ve tried pace feeding, adjusting his latch bc sometimes he doesn’t latch well, I’ve tried feeding him reclined and upright. As I mentioned he did have a tongue tie which was corrected over a week ago and his feeding is the same before and after. No lip tie. He does this from the moment the bottle goes in his mouth until he’s done no matter how many times I take the bottle out and regardless of the bottle type.
I’m adding in a picture, won’t let me put a video. This comes out pouring in streams and it’s every time he swallows not when he’s sucking.
