Do your twins have their own breast?

I am wanting to tandem feed my twins. I breastfed my son and it was rough, but, there are a ton of reasons why I would like to do it again. When breastfeeding twins, do they each have their own breast? Does each breast produce according to each baby's need? What were some things you did or had that helped you be more successful while breastfeeding twins?

My twins don't have their own breast because your twins will each take different amounts and then you can end up engorged or not produce as much in one breast. I try to make sure if I finished feeding one or the right I start the next on the left. If I don't switch them around I can end up engorged in one breast.

I switch my twins to different sides. Keeps your boobs and supply even.. i feed them every 2-3 hours and only tandem when I have to . I enjoy the one in one time with each baby! I also started pumping in the hospital my twins were 4 weeks early and had latch issues.. we use a nipple shield now and where I used to pump after every feed for two weeks (to help establish supply) now I do it after every other feed! And sometimes not even that!

I had trouble always remembering who fed at which breast last (even though I tried to alternate babes, and writing it down was not sustainable for me for months), but I at least always started with the same breast (say whoever went first got the left), and then tried to mostly switch which girl went first. But at least the first breast always had good time to refill. Was great to not assign kid to specific breast though bc one made more than the other, plus when mastitis hit etc, good to have options. Plus good for their necks and eyes and bodies to be switched around and eventually have symmetrical experience. 😂

I haven't delivered my twins... But I've been talking to a lactation consultant bcuz I want to b able to bfeed as well.. She said to b successful make sure ur either feeding or pumping every 2 hours... It will b tough but that how u can keep ur supply up... Idk about each having their own breast but that will b my next question... Good luck!!
