Copper IUD

Hello everyone 🤗my boyfriend and I are kinda short on money, we are using birth control pills and condoms, but here in Ecuador both are kind of expensive so we are thinking of getting a copper IUD, I saw a couple of videos of the insertion and it seems so painful, I just want to ask if you recommend it and if you have any pain during the insertion. (My doctor told me that it would be a wonderful choice for us, but I'm so scared 😔)
