What Birth control are you on?

What type of birth control are you guys on , do you like it ? I haven’t had sex for 14 months and won’t be for a few more months . But when my boyfriend comes home I was thinking about which birth control to get on . We are 21 with 2 kids . Believe it or not we actually are pretty good with keeping track of when I’m ovulating and him pulling out but there are times where it be “too good” so he don’t pull out 🥴 but the responsible thing to do is to get on birth control . I was really against BC because I heard it can cause cancer and my family (grandma, aunts, dad) had cancer so it really spooked me out but it’s time to move forward .

First of all birth control doesn’t cause cancer, just to ease your mind. I was on the pill before I had kids and had a good experience, as long as you take it every day. The depo was the worst experience ever and I would recommend literally any other method over that. But after my first I got an IUD and that was probably my favorite! Nothing to remember and they have a non-hormonal one if you don’t want added hormones.

My husband and I use natural family planning and condoms without yucky lube so my pH doesn't get messed up. It's been working for 19 months for us, we don't have sex or use extra caution when I'm ovulating and I've been using OPKs to make sure I know when I am ovulating. 😊

Every woman is different with it's unique conditions and family history, and only a doctor can help you pick the right type of birth control for you.
I take a combined pill and I havent had any bad side effects, just so you know it's possible to find a good birth control. I picked one type of pill (there are MANY) with the help of a doctor and it was the perfect one for me.

Talk to a gyn. Bc doesn’t cause cancer—it’s mostly genetic/random and can reduce cancer risks depending on the type of bc/your risks. If you are planning to be on birth control, you should start at least a month before you are sexually active (with most if not all oral pills. Not sure about depo shots.) 
I was on the pill for 10 years before trying for a baby. Never had a problem with it once we found one that worked best with my body chemistry (took, if i recall, 3 tries. 1 gave me a super long period, 1 made me break out TERRIBLY, 3rd was the winner chicken dinner.) After i had my baby i was on the minipill but kept forgetting to take it because i had a baby, so was playing russian roulette with my uterus. (Husband be all  “well are you ovulating?” I be all, “bitch, im not even sleeping, how tf should i know?”) Went to an iud after and have zero issues with it—i was crampy the day it got put it in and thats it. 
Just find a good doctor who will talk to you about what option works best with your health and lifestyle.
