Amnio- anyone else?

Question

Had one or about to have one and want to talk? 
I just had one earlier today and I’m still sorting through all That’s going through my head. Wondering if there’s anyone else out there.

I had one with my first pregnancy. They had to stick me three times through the abdomen to get any fluid. I could have gotten one with this pregnancy but I opted out and just did the cell free DNA test. I needed one with my first because my initial screening came back high risk for a genetic abnormality. The same with this one. I really didn’t want to go through it again. I opted for the CFDNA because that was 99% accurate for identifying the genetic abnormality I was high risk for. I didn’t know it was that accurate or I would have done it with my first. Anyways, getting confirmation that everything was just fine after the amnio made it worth it, but I’m going to avoid it as best I can for subsequent pregnancies. Watching a needle go through your abdomen and head straight for your baby on ultrasound is not something I care to repeat.

Answer

I had one with a previous pregnancy and they are asking me if I want to do it again this pregnancy. Super scared as it’s decently painful and traumatizing for me 🥺 still trying to decide.
