How do you introduce your cat to a new kitten?

Hey guys. How do you introduce your cat to a new kitten that will be joining our family?
How will my cat react? If you have any advice or tips it will be very much appreciated. Thanks alot!!

Keep the new kitten in a separate room, door closed. Let your existing cat smell and hear the new kitten. Give lots of love to existing kitty. After your cat seems fine / interested in whatever is behind the door, open and let them see each other face to face. Feed each other in the same room so they associate each other with something good.

I believe you’re supposed to keep them separate and introduce for small periods of time for a week or so while they get used to their scents.

We do a two week slow introduction. We have a guest room that we put the new dye baby in then using soccer netting we cover the entire door way with it. We go in a play while our other fur babies can still see us. We give treats to both at the same time, feed at the same time and allow them as much face time with the netting in place as possible. It has worked wonders in easing the transition.

I just left them the kitty in the carrier and let my cat walk up to him to smell him.  I waited about an hour then let the new kitty out. it took my cat at least 3 full days to get used to new kitty, I made sure to keep an eye out and not leave them alone until I knew my cat was good with him. I did this 2 different times (introducing a new kitty) the same way and both worked great each time. good luck 🐱
