Does your baby tippy toe when trying to walk? Or when walking..

My baby is 11 months and has been tippy toeing since she was 9months and I feel like it’s holding her back from actually walking. 😭 others are saying I should be concerned bc it’s a sign of autism 😳 I feel like it’s too early to detect that?? 
My first didn’t tippy toe.

That is normal at the beginning, but in order to start walking, baby needs to step on full feet. Just occasionally press down on his hips to get the feet on ground and weight on foot. But at 11 months, tipitoes is not a concern at all baby has time to start to walk.

As others have said, it’s normal when they’re learning to walk. If they’re walking on their toes at 2-3, I’d look into an evaluation.

My daughter did/does this, and has been in PT since about 8 months. Her therapist said it’s very common, and could just be a habit you have to break. We do ankle stretches and practice squatting down to pick up toys while keeping her feet flat and it helps stretch and straighten those muscles. I also taught her to put her feet flat when I say “flat feet” and she fixes it. You can push on her hips little and she should put her heels down.

All of my kids did this before they started walking. They’ll get it eventually. It’s only gonna be an issue if they continue to walk like that until we’ll into their toddlerhood.
