Is it worth taking a class for FTM?

First time mom here! Our families are thousand miles away. My MIL will be here for 1 month before and after giving birth. Should I rely to her or I need to attend a class?

My husband and I took one, we took it in the hospital where we were going to deliver. The teacher was also their lactation consultant. I found most of the information slightly redundant, since I like to read a lot and do research, but it was all interesting to my husband. And then we had a relationship with the consultant after delivery. And that was very nice. We took a facility tour in one class.

Before 1st baby we took breastfeeding, birthing, and newborn care. I am trained in infant cpr/first aid but had my husband for those. Breastfeeding class was helpful to me and we learned a lot. The other 2 were helpful in ways but more so for my husband. It let him feels like he got to be part of something pregnancy wise since dad's can only do/connect so much as we carry the baby. Plus it taught him a lot and he felt a lot more confident going into parenthood. And it was nice to do something together as a couple for baby..bonding type thing. Our classes were all included with out hospital though so they were free if you were pre-registered there for labor. To me yes they were worth it though for several reasons.

What do you need to attend a class for?

Do you mean a birthing class or like taking care of a baby class? I didn’t find either to be very beneficial. I think there are probably books out there that you could read or even do something online that would be just as helpful.
