Early miscarriage at 5 weeks

I didn't realize I could be THIS sad with it being so early on. But we were so excited to get the BFP and then to go thru this really took a toll. I'm still a mess, but I do want to start TTC again soon though. I talked to doctors office yesterday and they said to wait til I have a period then to try again. For anyone else that had an early miscarriage, how long after it did your period come?
