Do you think men/fathers typically find “excuses” to not be the default parent?
A default parent is the parent who typically handles the majority of childcare.

Women/mothers are typically the default parent. There are always “reasons” given why such as - the father makes more money so his career is more of a priority - but what about instances where the job is irrelevant and the man/father still finds “excuses” to not be around or not do the above in regards to his children? Some examples off the top of my head-
He comes home after work and spends hours outside maintaining the yard
He comes home after work and goes golfing/out with buddies
He hears the baby or child whining or crying but waits for his wife/the mother to jump up to them
