I’ve been dating this guy for about two months but I met him years ago. We live in NY but In separate boroughs. The first & second time we hung out, he came to me because he was in my borough, the Bronx. His mom lives here so he visits her at least once a week but he lives in Queens, and when visiting his mom he uses her car. Since then I’ve been traveling to him on public transportation. It’s a 3 hour commute for me to get from the Bronx to Queens. The thing is, he won’t do the same. My mom asked why I always travel to him but she hasn’t seen him in a while, so I asked him. He said its because he doesn’t have his own car. Once he gets his car, which he claimed will be by the end of this month, he’ll come to me all the time. So is he above public transportation? I also tried to make plans with him and our mutual friend, who also lives in the Bronx. The guy I’m dating made it clear that he wouldn’t go unless our friend drives an hour to pick him up and drop him off. I’ve dated a lot of guys that were good with words but their actions never matched. Wondering if it’s happening again. Maybe I should just leave him alone or wait it out until he gets his car and see if things change? We’re only 21 & 20 if that matters. He is a junior in college and then plans to go to law school, and he has expressed his worry of not having time for me when he goes back to school out of state so I think I know what I have to do already, just seeking other opinions.
