I'm 17 and a guy I like is 18. It is legal for us to date and have sex but he says he feels more comfortable waiting until I'm 18 in a few months. My friend says that's grooming.
Edit: Yes he's 18. We go to school together and I was there to celebrate his 18th birthday.

What? Where are you kids coming up with this shit? Grooming has nothing to do with a 17 and 18 year old dating, or an 18 year old creating boundaries on who he has sex with. It’s like people choose these buzz words and throw them around like they’re meaningless.

Grooming would be if he was trying to get you comfortable in situations where he would traffic you or otherwise abuse you- if he’s trying to be a good boyfriend I would not be worried, I had an ex that also waited till I was 18, I didn’t think much of it, I think he was just worried about what his friends would say
