Question

I work in a warehouse where we lift over 100lb packages by hand no machines I’m currently 12 weeks pregnant and instead of me just scanning labels my boss is forcing to lift and load these packages what can I do ?? HR doesn’t listen.

Hello guys thanks for the responses!! I have provided doctors notes, this is in the US and I have been with the company for 4 years everything since then has went above HR and to corporate now .

Have you told them you’re pregnant and submitted notes from your doc saying what your lift limit is?

If that's what you were hired for then they don't technically have to let you do anything else. If you get a note they can suggest you go on leave or most likely cut your hours until you ultimately end up leaving.
 May be time to switch jobs.

If in the US, pregnancy is covered under the ADA.  If a doctor's note is submitted, requesting reasonable accommodation and the business would face undue hardship,  they must accommodate. For example, limitation to lifting could be no more than 50-75 lbs, or less. If no lifting, if a scanning duty is possible, they need to allow that. This would happen until you are medically cleared to continue with regular work duties. If they do not allow reasonable accommodations, they will face fines and consequences.
