Tw: anyone else?

Question

I have felt from the moment I found out I was pregnant that I'm going to die giving birth. Am I the only one? I'm terrified as the days get closer. Is this normal or am I just a super morbid person? Everyone I've told about it just say I'm being over dramatic but I feel it in my bones. I have some moments where I forget the feeling and I'm fine but other moments where I just cry.

I don’t have this feeling, but I can understand where it’s coming from. I’m a ftm and I struggle with anxiety, my biggest worry is to not bring my baby alive in this world. I’ve told my partner that if it should come to the test I would prefer him to choose the baby’s life over mine because I would be terrified of living without my son.
We have two different worries but it’s similar, what I have done to ease my mind is to continuously tell myself that my baby will be fine and that things will be ok. And it has worked for me. I’m not sure if I’ve helped but I really hope that everything will work out for you and your baby when the time comes to delivery

Maybe this is too hippie for you, but I really believe in the power of positive affirmations. Saying them, feeling them is just as strong as you focusing on scary thoughts. I read one the other day that said “birth is the safest part of life” and I liked it a lot. There are also visualization techniques to try and eliminate negative thought patterns. Anything can happen but you can choose to have faith that your body knows what to do, and knows how to survive because this is the most innate, natural thing that could happen to you!

I’m in the same position. I’ve always said that if I got pregnant I would die during child birth. I bleed super easily and my doctors aren’t taking it serious. I’ve always seen the number 10/23 or 10:23. The two numbers always near each other. I joked that would be the day I would die and when I got my estimated due date of 10/23 or October 23rd, I was freaked out. I’m hoping now that I always saw those numbers and they actually meant it would be the best day of my life and not my last. But I’ve already considered writing letters to my baby and her father/family members. I catch myself loving certain moments so much more than I normally would because I don’t know if they’ll be my last. I’m trying to get out of this headspace but I certainly have times where I feel like I’ll die on that day

I didn’t have a “feeling,” per se. But the thoughts and reality crossed my mind.   And I voiced them (almost in a joking matter though). Then guess what?  I did almost die.  I thought it was such a far fetched thought.  But that was just last year and we still decided to go for it again right away.  I’m actually trying REEEEALLY hard not to think about that stuff this time around.  But unfortunately, I know firsthand bad things can happen.

I’m in a similar position I have epilepsy and after my second baby I had a seizure so I am so worried this time it will happen after birth and also fear death not seeing my baby or children! I did speak to my consultant about it and was very reassuring I highly recommend speaking to someone they can support you, I have my midwife, consultant and an epilepsy nurse that I can contact anytime that is reassuring so I’m not just sat on these anxious feelings! It’s normal to be abit anxious about what’s to come but please make sure you speak to someone xx
