Any advise for parent to be?

This is my first pregnancy. I don’t have friends with kids so I do all my research online. 
Any advise? Tips? What have you learned so far?

Practice letting things go and not wanting to be perfect or the house to be perfect. It’s gonna get messy when you’re tired and don’t feel like doing the dishes. Let them go. Get your sleep and let the mess pile up. Good luck!

I read so much and I still had some things I didn’t expect. Here’s my advice 9 months in:
1. Be ready for feeding your baby to be stressful. If you’re breastfeeding it’s uncomfortable and exhausting, and if you’re bottle feeding you’re always worried if they get enough. It’s normal to worry, and as long as baby has plenty of wet nappies you’re good.
2. Sleep deprivation is considered a form of torture. My memory was shot, I could barely function for 3 months. My world was boobs, sleep. If you need stuff done before baby arrives, do it now. If you can, clear your schedule for at least 3 months.
3. It’s ok not to enjoy the beginning. Just look at points 1 and 2 lol. It’s so hard and it takes a while to get the hang of your new normal. Your baby will start to give back as they get older but before then you have to run on the love you’ve got! 
4. Focus on keeping you, and your baby alive, the rest is not important.
5. If you’re doing this with a partner, remember they’re sleep deprived and stressed and scared too. Relationships change with a new baby but they can definitely get stronger. Work hard to remain kind and compassionate to them even if it doesn’t feel worth doing. Exhaustion, fear and worry can make us do things we don’t mean.

I would make sure you're 100% sure of the people helping you birth.
Look into trying things out before buying - strollers, baby wraps, etc. 
Ask for help !! After my first was born, I had a hard time with mom guilt and if only I could go back and say it's okay for him to cry for 2 minutes while you shower or let your mom hold him while you cat nap

Read expecting better and cribsheet by Emily Oster. Googling things can lead you down a rabbit whole of terror and misinformation. These books provide and summarize research to help you make the best decisions for you and your family.

I spent way too much time and energy stressing out about sleep patterns. Some babies are great little sleepers. Mine isn’t. 
BLW is worth it. 
Take a lot of videos. 
Rest when you need to. 
Make sure you have really really good communication with those around you. Ask for help if they’re not doing what you need them to do.
