Lab bill/insurance question

Kelsey • Wife of Nate since June 29, 2012. After two miscarriages in 2012, our son, Alex was born January 24, 2016
Back in October my doctor ordered a blood test to check for neural tube defects on the baby, she said she always orders that test after she does the Natera test because the Natera one only tests for chromosomal abnormalities. I got the bill for the neural tube blood test and it's $950! It says it was a total of $1350.00 but the insurance only allowed $950. I've called the customer service number on the bill, they told me to call the insurance. So I called my insurance and talked to a nasty woman who treated me like an idiot who doesn't understand deductibles (I completely understand how deductibles work) and said I should be lucky that because the lab is in network they were able to negotiate the price down from $1350 to $950. Anyone else have this test? Or this problem?
