Not sure if this is the right group but I just need some advice
Has anyone ever needed to leave a job due to extreme stress our being treated unfairly while pregnant?
I work in a school as a TA and office assistant. I've been told to only worth my allotted time as settle by the county. But my superior constantly requires us to stay for unpaid mandatory events. I asked if that was legal as it went against county policy. She said can require us to do so. Nonetheless, I called the county to verify and they said she couldn't. The following day, she called me into her office and asked why I contacted HR. I told her because I felt that she wasn't being honest.
Was I wrong for calling HR and ensuring I know my rights?
Sorry for the long rant but I feel it maybe better if I found another school to transfer to.
