Bleeding during pregnancy

Few days ago I took a pregnancy test and got a positive and then yesterday I started bleeding heavily, I would’ve only been 4 weeks and 5 days along. I went to urgent care and they did literally nothing for me but told me it’s too early to know if I am miscarrying , but bleeding has slowed down now does this mean I miscarried? Am I out of luck now or do I still have hope ? I made and appointment for 2 more weeks from now to test my hcg hormones to see if they are going up or down.
