Naming my child the same name as a cousin?
My husband and I are having a son in October. We both like the name Conor, however I have a 2nd cousin named Conner (different spelling but same pronunciation). My second cousin named Conner is about 10 yrs old and we only see this family maybe 1-3 times a yr at the most. Since my child and my cousin would technically be 3rd cousins, do you think the relation is far enough out that it would be fine to use the same name?
My family is huge. My dads side alone has 7 siblings. All of them had at minimum 2 kids. Now of course their kids are having/ have had kids… I don’t want to be rude and “steal” anyones names but I feel as though with the size of my family we are running out of options if we try to use a name not within my family already. Thoughts?
