2 year old & daycare
My daughter just completed her first 3 weeks at daycare and I noticed that when I drop her and my 4 year old son off together and they get put into the day room (what they call a grand room where all aged kids go until they move to their class for the day) they are able to sit quietly and be fine with me leaving. Now when I drop her in her own room she will cry. That’s expected. What really makes me concerned is she will cry when she sees me during pick up too. She will be playing happily and the second I pop through the door of her classroom she cries and acts as if they were tormenting her. I trust the daycare. It’s not that. Is it because I’ve spoiled her for 2 years? Is she being dramatic to get my attention? She does stuff like this at home too. She will run up to me for me to kiss her when she gets hurt and when I do she runs away happily like it never happened. The daycare did say she cries through transitions from one activity to another but usually she’s very happy and loves spending time there.
