Positive for CMV

My fertility doctor tested me and I’m positive for cmv, he wants to continue going forward but now I don’t want to because thousands of women who become pregnant with that virus active passes it to their baby who will be born disabled or stillborn. I’m just so confused and I don’t know what to do. We’ve been trying for years to get pregnant but now I’m too scared knowing I have this.
