Urine test on period

I had to do a physical for my job. part of it is a urine sample ( NOT a drug test) just to ensure I’m healthy. I am on my period so my first sample I felt awkward mentioning I was on my cycle. I didn’t tell them & proceeded with the sample. The nurse was nice about it when she ended up seeing my sample and came back out. She told me I can do it again next week ( fast forward to tomorrow). She didn’t want to run the first test because of course it’ll show I have blood in my urine and that would be abnormal / unhealthy. They want to have a clear screen. I’m still on my period. I’m having a weird cycle per usual. ( Nexplanon ) Would wearing a tampon help with this problem? & before someone says it’s gross I gave a sample while on my period…we are adults and it happens 🤦🏽‍♀️ im sure the nurse has seen worse than slightly tinted period urine !!!
