Do y’all pray before every meal?

Recently my boyfriend found out that I don’t pray before eating outside of meals I have with him.

Now he has been telling me that my spirit is not right and that it is a respect thing and that I’m lacking. Every meal we have together now, he always has something negative to say.

His father is a pastor and his family has grown up in church and prayer.

I have been to church when I was younger but I was not brought up the same way.

I do always wait before eating with him for him to pray or to pray myself. I do it out of respect as I know it’s important to him.

Am I wrong to not pray outside of meals with him?

Does this make me a bad person?

I am still Christian and do believe in god.

We have recently argued about this because I shouldn’t have to deal with his attitude at every meal. We have even discussed not eating together anymore.

Any advice on what to do?
