Can croup go away on its own without medication?
So my son is almost 3 and currently has croup. He used to go to daycare before he was 2 and had croup quite a few times, and every time he had it, he was prescribed meds by the doctor.
So I took him in today and the doctor told me to call back in 2 days, if he still has the cough she’ll call in the script. I was confused because he has always been giving meds. I asked why she wasn’t going to give him anymore and she said because he’s older they want to try to give him a chance to fight it off on his own
So I googled and it says sometimes they can get better on their own other times it can get much much worse so I am kind of freaking out. I really like my kids doctor and I do trust her but I am debating going to urgent care.
So ladies have your kids ever gotten over croup without meds?? Or should I try to get meds from another doctor?
