Anyone's Doctor not want to see them for a while?

I keep seeing all these posts of people having early ultrasounds or having blood work done already. I am 4 weeks 5 days, called my doctor yesterday and they don't want to see me until 1/5/16 and that is just an intake appointment! I don't actually see my O.B. Until 1/28 and by then I'll be 12 weeks! Is that normal?

Same here. First appt is January 4th. Also don't forget though that at 8 weeks, you'll def get to see your little peanut and most likely the heartbeat. Sometimes before that you may not be able to. Good luck ladies!

You need to do genetic counseling and some more test such as: cmv , rubella and rh befor 12 w

I'm in the same boat as you. My midwife scheduled me mid of January. I'll be 11 weeks.... Can't wait.

When I called my first doctor they scheduled me for Jan 6th, putting me at the 9 and half weeks mark. I've since changed doctors as they refuse to return my calls and answer a few of my questions. So, my new doctor is having my come in today to confirm pregnancy with a pee test and schedule accordingly. I don't know when my actual first appointment will end up being, but I suspect it will be around the 8 to 10 week mark.

Same here I see mine on the 22nd of January but military doctors and a lot of obgyns here want to wait until your at the end of the first trimester because you're consider out of the clear for miscarriages and other things. That's what they explained to me.

My PCP told me that my OB would probably want to see me at 8wks, but they actually want to see me at 10wks (my appt is on 01/12/16). I thought it was kind of odd, too, since I guess that it's normal/expected to go at 8wks, but I'm not too worried about going later. My OB encourages me to call whenever I have any questions, and they provided me with useful resources for my diet and things like that.

I look at it this way:
My baby will be bigger, so I'll get to see more of them than I would have had I saw them at 8wks versus 10wks.
and, I'll be further into my first trimester, which means that I'm pretty safe to start telling everyone at that point :)

I don't see mine until Jan 4. Her reasoning is they don't want to disrupt the implementation process. I am also 4w5d. Wish she could see me at 6 weeks.
