Is anyone having tooth trouble?

Question

I have a hole in two of my teeth (one on each side of my mouth😩)
My dentist said it looks like I would need to have root canal done but in order to do so she will need to take X-ray's to make sure it is the right decision. The thing is because I'm pregnant she doesn't want to do it until the baby comes...sighh😢😞
Anyone have the same or similar issue?

I just went last Friday at 20 weeks and they used two covers for me when they did the x-rays.  I was just trying to be a good patient and get my 6 month teeth cleaning and they told me I had early onset peridontal disease even though 6 months ago,  All of my numbers were low which to me means the pregnancy has caused this.  But only 3 teeth were higher then 3, they still wanted to do my whole mouth.  I am torn on what to do, so I hear you.  I have no pain and want to wait. I've just started getting better at flossing twice a day and bought a Sonicare toothbrush so hopefully that will help keep everything at bay.  Good luck with your decision

I had a root canal done at 14 weeks, my OB said she'd rather the procedure then an infection. I'm now 20 + 3 weeks and baby boy is doing perfect and I have no more pain. The dentist also said to get a water pik flosser, I swear my whole mouth feels better using that thing.

I'm a hygienst and it will be best to wait until the baby is born, that way they can use anesthetic and take necessary X-rays :) those holes probably didn't happen over night and if the decay is already to the nerve of the tooth, then the tooth is already dead (reason you need the root canals) a few months isn't going to change much! I actually have the same hole in my tooth as well. My doc gave me a release to go to the dentist and they used two covers on me to take the necessary X-rays they needed. I'm having two crowns and just had a filling done and I'm 20 weeks Prego. The dentist and my doc agreed that it's better to get the necessary work done to prevent infection. I would take more to your doc and see if there is something you could do to get the tooth fixed.

I have a crown on my back tooth that broke off last week. Not the whole thing....but maybe 1/4 of it. It's not bothering me, but I was worried about going to the dentist for that exact reason.

Ask her about an open and med. I had to have one done to avoid a root canal until after pregnancy. It is where they take out the nerve of your tooth and leave the root in tact and fill it so that you are no longer experiencing pain, and can last months if you take care of it well (: good luck love, tooth pain is no joke!

Ask for crowns as they will have to crown them anyway. I will need a root canal as well but if I can hold out until the baby comes my dentist said its best because ill need something for anxiety as well as x-rays. I'd ask your obgyn or family doctor
