Cant make TH sound with new tounge piercing

I just got my tounge pierced, I haven't change it to a shorter bar yet but I can't make the TH sound..my tounge can't reach my teeth to do it..the bar is in the way. It physically stops me from saying it, S is also more difficult but that's just cause it's sore.

But it's almost like it wasn't pierced back far enough for me to be able to reach my teeth.

Is this normal or was I pierced wrong??
