Is in normal to not be excited?

I’m 12 weeks almost 13 i haven’t had the greatest experience so far having to be hospitalised with HG and having to go in every few days for fluids it’s been awful, I have my first scan tomorrow and I’m in no way excited at all for the scan or the baby it’s all I’ve ever wanted and especially the last year we’ve been trying for a baby but now it’s happening I don’t feel excited or happy I don’t want to talk to anyone about the baby including my partner I don’t know if it has something to do with the fact I don’t feel pregnant but I’m hoping it passes eventually like maybe when my bump starts getting bigger or something, has anyone else experienced this?

It is very normal. It’s a scary time and throw a lot of complications on top of it- it makes things hard. Hopefully you’ll find some relief in your second trimester and be able to get excited. Don’t be afraid to seek professional help in navigating your emotions!!

I had complications my whole pregnancy so I don’t think I really got excited until I was actually in labor/pushing. with each milestone (first scan, first trimester done, reaching viability, finishing the nursery etc) that passed I felt better and more confident, but real excitement didn’t kick in until I had my baby in my arms.

I had the same feeling! We tried for one and a half years before I got pregnant and after all the disappointment when it finally happened I was like: ok, whatever, it’s happened. 
I even had my first ultrasound and I was severely disappointed because I’m having a boy and I wanted a girl. It was not until I got a NOTICEABLE bump and started feeling movement that I finally felt excited about having my child. I have roughly two and a half months left now and I can hardly wait to see him and touch him!

I was the same way in the beginning. I wanted this pregnancy for so long and it finally happened and I got soooooo sick. After a bunch of ED visits and one longgggg stay in the hospital we finally found a regimen of medications and out patient treatments that are working to help keep my HG under control. I wasn’t able to be excited or enjoy any part of this until like 24/25 weeks.
