My bf, who has anxiety, says he wants to get married but doesn’t know when or if he can.

He’s starting his own company and is scared it’ll flop. He would rather wait until its doing good and he doesn’t know when that will be. He says his anxiety also makes him scared to get married at all. So basically he’s scared he will make me wait until the company is doing well (which might take awhile) and then after all that, he still won’t want to get married due to his anxiety.

He says he really does love me and does want to marry me.

He’s 33 and I’m 28 so we’re both not really young. He’s a really special guy and I love him a lot. We’ve been friends for a year and together for less than a year. I didn’t even bring up the topic of marriage, I’m ok with us as we are now anyway. I rather wait until we’ve been together a year and a half or something. He brought it up on his own.

I told him of how my siblings married their SO before their husband was doing well and it turned out fine! But he said he wishes he could do that but can’t.

We live in a culture where we can’t live together until we’re married. And on top of that, we’re doing long distance 🙃
