So I just had my Pap smear for my second pregnancy and I was informed that I tested positive for chlamydia. My doctor said that this is a common STI and is usually asymptomatic so you can have it for a while and not know. I’m married and have been for over 2 years. I am not concerned about my husband’s fidelity or anything of that nature as we’ve discussed our sexual history and we’ve both had other partners so I am sure it’s came from that. Anyway, we both of course will be treated and re tested etc. but what im wondering is how does this affect my pregnancy? Is there a chance this is a false positive for the STI? Will I be tested more often now, is my pregnancy at risk? Will my doctor call in a prescription for both myself and my husband? Does anyone have any history with this?
