Doppler worth it?

I didn’t buy one with my first for fear that if I couldn’t find a heartbeat I’d freak out. Thinking about it with this one but still on the fence for the same reason.

While I totally understand wanting that reassurance, for me personally the risks outweigh the benefits (which are really none as the use of home Dopplers doesn't improve birth outcomes). Like you said, you may not find the heartbeat and become unnecessarily stressed. You might also become incorrectly reassured and not seek help from a professional when you usually would have. And then there's the whole issue with not having it be a regulated device, and the ultrasound waves could be stronger than they should be, which can heat tissue and sometimes create little bubbles in tissue. Of course mamas have used them without issues, but to me it's not worth it.

I had one with my first and couldn’t find the heartbeat until 12 ish weeks. This time around I was able to get it last week at 9 weeks! Worth it for me as I have constant anxiety about something going wrong and it gives me a piece of mind!

I like having one for those weeks where you can feel movement, but it still isn’t consistent. Especially since there is so much time between appointments, my anxiety goes through the roof! I am 11 weeks and still haven’t been able to find it this time. But hoping I can soon!

I bought one and been stressed cause I can’t find the heartbeat but….I liked it for my other pregnancies sometimes it’s just too early so you could just wait to get one until it’s easier to find bub in there.😌

I've had one for all my pregnancies now, this is my 5th! I think they're great. I'd never use them instead of seeking medical help if I felt something was wrong but just in an evening when you're relaxing and want to listen to baby it's lovely, especially as they can bigger as you can hear them wiggling and when they've got hiccups it's so cute 😍 but again id never use it and think I've heard a heartbeat and everything is ok, especially if your experiencing reduced movements you should always get stuff looked at professional. I normally haven't looked or found heartbeat till about 14-16 weeks but this time I'm 11 weeks and we found it

I loved mine in my first pregnancy but I’m 11 weeks and can’t find the heartbeat and so now I am anxious and stressed out about it. I wish I wouldn’t have tried until after our 12 week US
