Is this my period starting?

My period usually comes in about 2-4 days still. Today I do feel crampy and had a red spot in my underwear (very early from my normal period) So I put a pad on, 3 hours later and there is very little brown blood on it. Nothing in toilet or when I wiped. I feel a little bloated though. (I am 8 dpo, cycle day 24)

If it is my period can you really ovulate and get a period that close together?
