Cramps and painful sex no period

For the last 6+ months I’ve been having cramps in between my periods on my lower right side. You can actually feel a swollen spot/knot that fits in the whole palm of my hand when cupped (like you are holding your hand out for some candy or something). Sex is painful some times during but every time after there’s bad cramps again. My period cramps are so bad I just want to cut it out. I’ve been to the Dr they did a ct scan couldn’t find anything after that they gave up and didn’t seem to care. Anyone else have this problem?
