My in laws are coming for almost two weeks even though I told my husband I’d prefer if they limit it to a week or so. I work from home and would have to share my car with them and I just feel like it’s a big imposition. There are a lot of boundary issues e.g. his mother will rearrange stuff in our kitchen and I have a lot of control issues so it’s really triggering for me. He comes from a culture where visiting relatives for long periods of time is normal whereas I was raised to believe “guests and fish stink after three days.” He doesn’t mind so he doesn’t understand why I do and won’t say no to them but I feel like my wishes should be respected. Am I being unreasonable here?
