Mirrors
Hi everyone, my daughter just turned 4 months and she hates it when I hold her in front of the mirror. My son used to laugh, smile, and playfully reach for the “other baby” when I would hold him next to the mirror, but my daughter looks confused and angry. I’m almost under the impression that maybe she’s jealous of her own reflection because she can see me holding a “strange” baby. Is that normal? She loves the mirror on her play mat and “talks” excitedly to herself when she sees her reflection. However, if I’m holding her she tries pushing the other baby away and starts crying and launching herself towards my reflection! It’s a bit dramatic. When do they start recognizing their own reflection?
