Diaphragms?

They used to be popular but not any more. Why? They seem like a good solution if you are in a committed relationship and don't want to use hormonal birth control. When combined with condoms they could possibly work better, but nowadays no-one mentions them as a means for contraception.

Because for it to work properly you have to use a spermicide gel with it and it’s not as foolproof as it sounds, failure rate is pretty high. You have to have inserted it with the jelly at least 15 mins prior to the penetration portion of intercourse so it will kill the mood if not done properly or just not work. Condoms are easier and less messy. Also if you lose or gain more than 20lbs you have to get refitted for it and possibly get a new one… it’s a lot.
