I feel like I am the only one that had an autistic child in our March 2019 babies group. Anyone else care to share how they’re doing? We are still in the early stages of post diagnosis, getting therapies aligned. Our behavioral and developmental pediatrician recommendations are to continue with speech, OT and start ABA.

Are y’all doing ABA this young? Our recommendation was for 30-40 hours of ABA a week, which I feel is so much therapy— I feel so broken on ABA as some members of the autism community have come out and said how hurtful and cruel it can be to them, now that they’re older. Our pediatrician and early intervention team swear by it, but reading the blogs and watching the testimonies, I am like kind of going in a circle on asking myself — Is this truly needed for my child? Am I causing more harm than good? Any resources that anyone has found to aid in the process?
