Maskne

Question

I have struggled with acne spots periodically throughout my life. Ever since these masks came into plays it’s gotten 10 times worse, especially from the blue disposable masks. I wear concealer now because I’m too embarrassed to show my acne at work. What’s the best way to manage this?? I can’t take the itching and scarring from picking anymore. 😿

The blue and white paper ones kill my skin!!! I buy cloth ones with sparkles because
I love glitz from Natalie Mills. I buy when they have sales for great deals. They are made really well and I just wash them in the laundry after wearing and they don’t cause skin issues.

You were going to have to figure out what masks work best for you, I have found only one mask that I can wear because all the blue ones and cloth ones and multiple masks would break out my skin, and of course the masks are now discontinued, but I used to get them from the container store before that I would get them from Staples so now it’s gonna be difficult to find them. But it was a lot of mask trying before I found one that didn’t break out my skin, and you may have to go through the same thing, as for the acne itself, you can treat it by cleaning up your diet, making sure you’re eating foods that walk on the earth or grow on the earth, drinking more water cutting out chemicals and things that cause your skin to break out, anything that has biotin like those hair skin and nail products, can also break out your skin, soy, gluten, dairy, everyone has some kind of sensitivity when they realize it or not, anytime I have anything with soy, I get acne on my nose, anytime I have gluten, it goes on my chin, and it’s only because I figured it out that I’m able to realize it, anything with caramel coloring which can be hidden in foods, also breaks out my skin sometimes it can be in salad dressings, sometimes it’s disguise and you wouldn’t even know it unless you read the labels, it’s not just dark colored Sotos that caused the acne, but like I said changing your pillow finding some thing that you can change daily and not use the same ones over and over, could be if you are using reusable mask it could be the detergents you’re using, it could be the products that you’re using your make up, the make up brushes, needing to be washed more often, it could be lotions, soaps, body wash, or just changing of your diet the more water you drink the better off your skin is not only will the water help to clear up your skin, it also will clear up dark circles, it’ll give you that Dewey glow versus that dried out hydrated look. But like I said you may have to try out different things, gator masks, bandannas, cotton masks, different ones until you find one that works for you it took me at least 20 to 30 masks before I found the one that worked for me. I tried reusable mask I tried cotton masks I tried a lot of different ones, and I have a feeling you’re gonna have to go through the same process until you find something that works for you. Sometimes you have to get those plastic inserts that you stick inside of the mask so it’s not directly on your skin, however makes you sweat more, but you need to find something that works well for you. Sometimes people make their own mask etc. or sometimes it’s the elastic or the ear loops or the material that goes directly around it, it could mean that you need to takeoff the mask more often and patch your face down, or not wear make up underneath, or you got to figure it out basically. But as for facial products, for spot acne, I use the mirrored brand and they have a acne spot treatment, but I rarely have to use it because I eat well and I eat clean, as long as I don’t eat anything with soy or gluten or Caramel coloring, I’m basically good, but you have to figure out and read labels and figure out what gives you a reaction to foods or drinks. And sometimes things that we think are healthy and beneficial for us aren’t like I said those hair skin and nail products sound like a great idea, however the biotin breaks out your skin, and sometimes it’s things were putting on our skin that are irritating it like the make up you don’t even realize it that your body changes your chemistry changes sometimes you need to change your deodorant because it no longer works or sometimes it’s a side effect of an antibiotic or sometimes medication birth control things like that can break out your skin unfortunately it’s a tough road until you figure it out￼￼￼￼
